I strike another match on the outside of the red, rectangular box. The tip flares to life as I hold it over a glass filled with water. I watch as the head of the match turns from red to black, consumed by the fire. There is little smoke from such a small, innocent fire. Until it nears the end of it's life.
Mission Statement
I don't want to be famous. I just want to be heard.

Except For Life
Many can be kind, giving, and understanding. Except for when they are stressed out or upset. Many people can be happy and upbeat. Except for the days that life does not go their way. Many people can be wonderful people who make the right decision. Except for...

Batman Is The Worst Superhero. Ever.
Many people consider Batman an amazing superhero. He is set apart from other supers by his lack of a super power. Some might argue this makes him even more heroic. That it takes more personal skill, creativity, and intelligence to compensate for his lack of power which makes him even greater than most superheros. I disagree.

On The Subject of Release
My darling Kelly,
On the subject of release, a wise song says "We can't always get what we want. But if we try sometimes, we just might find, we can get what we need." I find this to be especially true when it comes to the release of our inner desires, emotions, thoughts and ambitions.

My sweetheart Kelly,
On the subject of forgiveness, it is never too late and always worth it.

The Poetry Pedicure
Strip away the layers of useless phrases like dead skin being scraped from a foot.
Callouses of cliche are removed to reveal the fleshy rebirth of originality.
Toes polished with letter rich words are nice to look at.
But the meaningful change is the renewal of vibrancy
Replacing the dull ache of repetitive mediocrity.

Spiritually Fed
Today was the worst work day I have had since I moved to Rexburg. That includes the first few days when I realized that I am quite alone in both my sense of humor and approach to situations. I also experienced the kindest gesture from a stranger since I moved here.

Flaming Grapes
The highlight of my day was when I convinced a guy in the break room at work to light a grape on fire using the microwave. He was doubtful, but I was persuasive and eventually he relented. If this is something you have never tried I will instruct you.
Bittersweet Creation
A few of the happiest moments of my life have come from creating things. Clothing, songs, poetry, food, photographs, watercolor, crochet, jewelry, stories, lists. My medium changes frequently, but I feel most whole when creating. My brain expands to the size of a small planet as it fills with my next endeavor, that I must begin immediately or it will disappear leaving my brain somehow deflated and "less" than it was before the initial inspiration.

Cookie Crumbs and Smelly Shoes; An Overture
I have heard that writing is a good way to clear ones mind and organize ones thoughts. Though if it is done in that order, no thoughts would remain to be organized after the initial clearing effect occurs. This is not an attempt to gain influence, followers or recognition. Rather an opportunity for me to share part of myself openly and honestly.
