The Poetry Pedicure

Strip away the layers of useless phrases like dead skin being scraped from a foot.
Callouses of cliche are removed to reveal the fleshy rebirth of originality.
Toes polished with letter rich words are nice to look at.
But the meaningful change is the renewal of vibrancy
Replacing the dull ache of repetitive mediocrity.

This is a first draft piece inspired by my friend Emily. She often reviews my work and scours through the rough to find the bits worth reading.

I may tear it apart after a solid nights sleep, but right now I kinda like it.
Thoughts?
